Keeping track of your progress when it comes to losing weight, toning up, getting that lean look or any fitness and health goals you may have is key to keeping you motivated and on the right track. Also, just to make sure whatever new thing you are doing is working. So no matter your goal, you should already be doing this.
But trying to track your goals too often can be a very bad idea. Getting on the scale everyday, taking those measurements is not a good idea to do everyday. Having scale envy can discourage you. Our bodies change a lot throughout the day depending on what we eat, whether we exercise or not. So with that in mind you can have one result a minute and a totally different one the next.
What you should do is pick a day out of the week or bi-weekly, even monthly. And on that day get on the scale and take your measurements. Just make sure it is the same day and the same time. Like Sunday or your rest day. Weigh and take my measurements first thing before you eat or drink anything every Sunday.
Why first thing in the morning? Well when you measure yourself at this time you will be at what is considered your natural weight. And, your body will be in a relaxed state. And, you have yet to consume anything, no water, or food, anything. What leaves your body at it is its natural weight. Because when you eat or drink, your body will naturally fluctuate throughout the day in weight and size depending on what you eat or drink. So your body will be at its natural weight right when you wake up and release that morning pee.
Also, it is a good thing to write it down regularly in a journal or on a calendar you can see all of the time to keep you motivated. Not just a mental track of your progress but a written one. Just keep in mind your body will change during a fitness program, so you may gain weight as a result of gaining muscle. This does not necessarily mean you are getting bigger. And you might not lose as much weight one week as the next because your body is getting used to the diet. Just don't let this discourage you.Or you might have an off week, just get back on track the next.
So, no matter if you are on a diet to reach your weight loss goal, or a fitness program [https://nplink.net/r7zbl3ee],
you will reach it as long as you have the determination and motivation [https://nplink.net/37fkgwcf] to do so.
